Boat Interiors/Seat Repair

*** We are still taking single cushions for completion by the Spring of 2024.

All others will be put on the standby list and we will do our best to have them done for you.***

Custom interiors can completely change the look of your pontoon or boat.

We can fix a single ripped, torn or cracked cushion...or completely renovate the entire interior of your boat with extensive upholstery work or totally new seating.

We use only top-of-the-line, marine grade vinyl and we have hundreds of material samples to choose from in our shop.  If you are in need of an exact match to a color and/or texture, 99% of the time we can find it for you.

We are also able to provide quality, factory direct watercraft seating in any layout you want, with many pieces in stock for viewing.

If you're wondering about pricing for your particular job, use the *REQUEST A QUOTE* form located at the bottom or top of this page  - be sure to include some basic measurements and add as many photos as needed to illustrate; you can attach them right to the form.

All of our work is billed time and materials after completion so each job varies, but we can give you a really good idea of cost if given good photos along with information about the condition of the seat and the work you need done.  We will get back to you with the requested information within 2 weeks, however at some times of the year it can take longer.

Our Upholstery shop works all winter long at re-skinning seats.  This is winter work for us, as our techs do boat covers and other "canvas  shop" work full-time during the summer months.  We are able to do anything from a simple seam repair to a full re-skin to exactly match existing vinyl, including woodwork, foam and hardware if necessary.

This is extremely skilled labor, and the techs we employ work to the highest industry standards out there.  Our shop rate for these jobs is $90/hr plus materials and our billing is based solely on time and materials put into a job.  The vinyl we use is the highest quality available to the outdoor market, and it runs $30 to $40/yard. If the interior of the seat has suffered damage from water or rodents, the wood is rotting or the hardware is bad, those portions of the repair are in addition to the simple re-vinyl cost.

Upholstery work is extremely labor intensive and requires a skilled patterner/sewer to complete.  Each piece we re-vinyl is disassembled and de-seamed.  The old vinyl pieces are then numbered, steamed flat and used to create the pattern on the new vinyl.  Those pieces are cut out and marked for sewing, carefully assembled and sewn together, any old foam we can reuse is steamed (or new foam is patterned and cut), a new poly-vinyl layer is placed and the skin is installed on the the foam and base.  Once that is done the new skin can be carefully stapled into place, a job that takes experience and skill to do properly.

Whether your piece is complex, with curving lines and 6 colors or a simple rectangle cushion with one color - we can re-vinyl it for you.

We can answer your questions and ensure that if more pieces need to be done in the future, we have customer vinyl records on file for each individual customer so can look up the vinyl used and reorder the same vinyl.

This cushion is one of the smaller from the above job - but to create this skin, the staples were pulled from the old, each seam was carefully taken apart to preserve the shape and size of the vinyl, the pieces were steamed flat and 6 individual pieces of vinyl were patterned, cut out and sewn together...then it moved on to the finishing stages where the old foam (this foam was in good shape so we were able to reuse it) was steamed, a new layer of polyfoam was added (the topper for foam under vinyl) and the skin was stapled on to the base, along with the backing.

This small piece alone took 3.5 hours...but it is done perfectly, with the best marine grade vinyl and thread on the market and skill and expertise.  With this kind of quality, you can be assured that with proper care it will last for decades!

Below is an example of a cushion where the customer went with a budget repair from an unskilled vinyl technician - and  "Got what they paid for".  Now they've come to us to have it done again, but correctly this time.  Our techs would never allow this, much less give it back to a customer in this condition.  If you want it done right, leave it to us - what you get at pick up will be as good or better than brand new!  We guarantee it.

Vinyl work is never cheap but we can always discuss ways that may reduce the cost on each job. Some easy ways are to use less detail in the seat. You're better off bringing your seats in before they totally deteriorate as it takes longer to pattern skins that have shrunk or changed shape.

*STORAGE WILL BE PROVIDED AT NO CHARGE FOR THE WINTER MONTHS IF NEEDED, HOWEVER WE RESPECTFULLY REQUEST PAYMENT OF THE INVOICE UPON COMPLETION OF WORK*

(A photo, itemized invoice and online payment options will be provided by email, if you are not able to pick up within 30 days of completion.)
